people who are telling this man to eat fruit, carrots, brown rice and cut the fat aren't doing him any good. He is a diabetic, those foods will make his insulin rise. Any food that is not a protein or fat is a carb and will turn into glucose as soon as it enters the body. Get a glucose monitor and check it out for yourself.
The Eades doctors have helped many paients lost weight in their 25 years of practice. I have helped many a friend by giving them the basic diet of the Eade's. You can eat lean cuts of meats and cut the fat if you want to, but you don't have to worry about fat when the carbs are this low.
Here is the basic Protein Power plan.If you are a 5'9" or taller male weighing 200 or over the book chart says you should eat a minimum of 40 grams of protein per meal. That would be the size of a large chicken breast. It is hard to get the right amount of protein in at breakfast, so protein shakes help alot in this area. Most of the fruit will be about a 1/2 cup depending on fruit. Strawberries are the lowest.
Basic sample plan......
Eat 7-10 net carbs per meal or snack, net means carbs minus fiber. Don't save up carbs for later and think I can have 20 net for dinner since I didn't eat but 3 net carbs for breakfast. No more then 30-40 net carbs per day total during the weight loss phase. Once you make goal it is 80-100 net a day
Fruit should always be eaten with some protein like cheese or nuts, never eaten alone.
B. eggs, any style, with choice of bacon, ham, sausage or fish. 1 slice low-carb toast with butter if "desired"
L. Bacon cheeseburger or grilled chicken breast, no bun, with a side salad with low-starch veggies w/ full fat dressing.
Snack, 1/2 small serving of fruit, with nuts or cheese stick
Dinner. Choice of grilled/broiled steak, chicken, pork or fish. 1/2-1 cup green or colorful low starch veggies and side salad with real full fat dressing. 1/2 cup berries.

Concur with above advice. I love food - love eating. However, I lost 140 pounds and have maintained it for years. Did so through low carb eating and high protein. Has documented success on regulating blood sugar levels. Definitely check this out - it's what has finally allowed me to control the hunger.
