One meal a day is NOT healthy. It would be insane to do this and think that you are getting healthier.
What's unhealthy about it? There has to be a reason other that you said so. Please elaborate about what is unhealthy about eating one meal a day.

There is nothing wrong with meats, fish, poultry or eggs.

There is nothing inherently healthy about eating a "balance" of carbs, protein and fats. People can do equally well on unbalanced diets as long as they get enough micro nutrients.

Disagreement does not equal attack.

I think it's a good idea because firstly, it's just fun to be able to eat a big breakfast! And, then you know for sure you are stoking those fires of metabolism early in the day by feeding your body. At lunch, you can have a moderate meal and that will keep you going through the day. At dinner, go light, kind of transitioning your body from activity to sleep, and it won't have to digest a lot and hopefully by the middle of the night, let's say, it's done digesting everything you've eaten and can maybe go to start burning some fat stores. (I guess I'm thinking of that 18/6 fast thing I've read about).

I have been doing a version of this for 4 weeks now. I eat a small, healthy snack every 2-3 hours and one regular meal a day. I have lost 7.5 pounds so far and I feel great! I find that when I start to get hungry it's time to eat another snack, but I never get that over-stuffed and sluggish feeling.

Yesterday looked like:
8am - Greek yogurt
10 - apple
Noon - Casserole with chicken, spinach, rice, etc. and a banana
3 - Snap peas and carrot sticks
5:30 - sauteed zucchini, potatoes and carrots
8 - a Kind bar

It's not really one meal a day if she's having a protein shake and eggs throughout the day and a healthy balanced meal at night. If she thinks he can stick to it, I say go for it.

Interesting....
I tried a mini meal diet once..
I ate 5-6 mini meals that were about 200 calories each..
I made sure each "meal" had some protein ..

It worked pretty well except when I ate out ..

I don't eat just one meal a day (unless it is one big meal lol), but usually a few small meals in the space of a few hours. It is not for everyone, but it fits well with my lifestyle.

YMMV
