I eat a regular heavy wheat bread, called 12 grain. More interesting, I have never ate white bread! Exceptions would be cafe hamburgers and sandwiches at office parties. Never liked white bread sandwiches.

All bread has very high glycemic values, no better than eating something high in sugar. That is why many people feel hungry a couple hours after consuming bread.

You are mixing up glycemic index and glycemic load. Glycemic load is what has the effect on blood glucose and insulin levels.

Whole grain bread has a glycemic load of 5-10, which is very low. Compare that with a high sugar food such as cookies, cakes, or doughnuts at 20-30.

Clearly whole grain breads are different than high sugar foods in terms of their affect of glucose/insulin levels.

Clearly, high gylcemic load foods should be avoided for people that want to lose weight. That means eating single ingredient foods. Based on my diet, I eat very few foods with high glycemic loads.

Bread is really dead food...best thing I did was to STOP bringing it into my house. Healthy green romaine lettuce make a great sandwich wrap.

Unless you are eating live animals, everything you eat, with the exception of fruits and vegetables, is dead.

What do you mean by "dead" food? Processed food?

To me it's never been alive, our meats were alive.. People can containue their bread eating, it just doesn't make sense to me anymore. Like donuts, cookies etc etc.

I've been watching a lot of the alaskan survalists who live off the land and eat every animal they can kill to survive and get the fat they need and protein. They are not out there trying to find breads to keep them alive.

Then there is all the info today on the grain brain and the effects of grains on the brain.

It's all ok, we can agree to disagree and debate if that's what works for one another.

Last time I checked, wheat is a plant, which is alive.

There is a big difference between whole grain bread and donuts and cookies.
