What breeds of dogs would you consider to be the cutest, best looking, etc. ? My top 5 would be:
1.) Saint Bernard
2.) German Shepherd Dog (especially long haired, and white ones)
3.) Newfoundland
4.) Bernese Mountian Dog
5.) Great Dane
The most overrated dogs (IMHO):
1.) Any doodle (golden doodle, labradoodle, etc)
2.) Lab
3.) chihuahua
4.) Beagles
5.) Wire Fox Terrier
I may offend some people, but its just an opinion. I don't understand how terriers always win dog shows when there are so many other beautiful and intelligent dogs out there.
What are your thoughts? Top dogs, overrated ones?
I guess I've never really thought about it much. I take dogs one at a time, just like people. The only thing I don't like to see is an over weight dog or a badly behaved dog.
But to choose, I would have to go with the German shorthairs, Golden Retrievers and the Yellow Labs as the most beautiful dogs if they are maintained right. Hard to beat those breeds.
Cane corsos are gorgeous. I wouldn't call them "cute" (except as puppies) but they are very elegant and dignified, as well as extremely muscular and athletic. They also come in many colors, which is nice . The light-eyed formentino corso is especially attractive. I prefer the ears to not be cropped, however.
I am also one that tends to think that few dogs are ugly. Chinese crested are about the only breed that seems to usually be ugly IMO. Some pugs are ugly, too, but to me a lot of them are in the "so ugly they're cute" category.
That video is awesome! I showed it a co-worker who has goldens and she loved it.
I like how you could see his head kind of grooving with the music while he smiled.
