Any dog will turn his nose up at food if he knows he can get something "better" from his humans. What human would continue to only feed candy to their dog and think it's the dogs' fault?
By the way, has anyone mentioned the dental implications of candy?
Bear that in mind as well.
I'm just shocked that dogs would have a taste for candy, I would think they would not be interested in it and maybe digested by it. But this really sincerely loves and wants candy.
It's sounds stupid I know, but this really is a serious thread.

Dogs acquire a taste for what they are given the most of and if it is candy then they will want candy over dog food.
You should never give your dog anything sweet or off the table if you want him to continue to eat dog food.
I cannot believe a responsible pet owner would actually think it is a good idea to give a dog candy.
My dog likes Sour Candies and Gummi bears. It seems he likes them more than Dog food. He gets excited more for candy than dog food. Now what?
How do I get him to want dog food again? he's nit interested in it anymore just Gummies. Are sours and Gummies bad for him?
So what? My three year old daughter would eat candy all day every day if it was up to her. Here's an idea. Don't give it to him! Give him dog food. When he is hungry enough, he will eat his food. Period. Stop giving him junk. If its not offered, then he has no choice. Believe me he will be eating dog food again in no time. He won't starve.

I'm more shocked that you thought it ok to give him candy. With all of the healthy treats out there for dogs, there's no good reason to feed candy to them. The only sweet treat my dogs have ever have are those sweet little baby carrots. Even a piece of a sour apple like Granny Smith would be better than candy.
