I've owned only herding breeds all my life-- most have been Aussies. But my Mom has a Corgi that's a wonderful dog! I have dog-sitted her many times, starting when she was still a young puppy, and she has always been game to go with my Aussie.
Both dogs are aging now- the Corgi is mature at 7, and my dog is growing old at 14, but they are still the best of friends. When it is his time, I think my next dog will be a Corgi. I love their cheerful disposition and optimistic outlook on life.
Oh, he's gorgeous!
My only puppies were Corgi/Border Collies. Looked like squished border collies, and they had Corgi faces. Herding dogs and mixes are my favorite kinds of dogs, they are so sharp and fun!
We had a corgi when I was growing up and living in England (Air Force brat) ... they were such sweet dogs, especially the last one we had, a female we named Mandy. Wish I had some pics.
Love seeing the photo of Chevy now compared to when he was a puppy (first page of ths thread). What a sweetie!
He's adorable! Have you ever experienced herding breeds before? If not, you are in for some great times as well as challenges.
Thanks for the compliments everyone! This was our first herding dog. Chevy can be VERY headstrong at times, but overall it has been a very awesome experience owning him. You can't stay mad at a Corgi for very long anyway. All he has to do is lower his ears and droop his eyes, and it's all over then.

My wife's name is Amanda! She will love that even though she doesn't care for being called Mandy! Of course I call her Mandy to mess with her!

Wow - it seems like just yesterday you posted that you had "gotten a puppy". What a handsome man he has turned out to be!
I saw his first pics and fell in love...still feel the same way...what a handsome guy!
