There will be another $1200 check but I would not expect much else. Maybe a small bump for those working essential jobs. Wife works in a grocery store was getting a $2 bump an hour to be among who knows who is carrying what and that ends May 19th. I would think there might be enough money left to continue something like this after the fat cats get their turn at the trough.
A UBI might become necessary with automation but there should be a lot of requirements.
USA Citizen and Needs to live permanently in the USA.
High School Graduate.
No criminal record (if a person gets a criminal record they are banned from the UBI).
18 years and up.
UBI can only be used for cost of living or used as investment income for 401K or HSA or down-payment on a home.
If you make 110% over the median average income for your state then you are banned from receiving the UBI (if this changes then you become eligible.)
UBI is lowered or not received if you are receiving other assistance based programs.

Yeah I got a problem with that. I have no problems with amending the process so that citizens married to LEGAL immigrants can get stimulus checks (they couldn't under the CARES Act) but illegal immigrants absolutely shouldn't be included.
The House package included a second, larger round of payments. Individuals would again get $1,200 from the Internal Revenue Service, but the payment per child would rise to $1,200 from $500. Groups excluded from the first round would get money, including college students, adult dependents, and households with undocumented immigrants where not everyone has a Social Security number.
Those payments to people who were initially excluded in the law that passed in late March would be retroactive, adding $23 billion to the original $293 billion size of the first round. Together with larger payments for dependents, the second round of stimulus would be worth $413 billion.
The legislation would remove the CARES Act's requirement of a Social Security number, meaning immigrants who file returns with a taxpayer identification number (or TIN) could get money. We know a family where the father pays taxes with such a TIN. The wife does not have one and they have two kids.

so as usual punish those who are working and take their money to give to people who sit on their ass all day.

more handouts for those with kids they can't afford.
it doesnt cost twice as much for 2 people do live together as it does for someone to live by themselves and it doesn't cost 5 times as much for 2 adults and 3 kids as it does for one adult. kids aren't even doing normal outside activities that might cost parents money. 6,000 dollars for a family of 5 on top of all the unemployment is utterly insane.

We spend money on useless things already to begin with. The UBI will also benefit the working people.
"According to the Vera Institute of Justice, incarceration costs an average of more than $31,000 per inmate, per year, nationwide. In some states, it’s as much as $60,000. Taxpayers foot the bill for feeding, housing and securing people in state and federal penitentiaries. "

To you, they might be useless. But not to the person that's actually using their own money to spend on it.
