Oh boy! Instead of doing the right thing, taking a meeting with the principal, you would entrust this problem to "Vera" (whoever the heck she is) and misstate the issue to boot. Great parenting.

How about starting with the right question: "I'm a little concerned because my son tells me that the janitor has been sitting with him at lunch and recently the janitor gave him a gift." Then how about asking the right person. Liaison staff to interface with the parents. I call BS on this. Post a link to the school.
