One is which our Governor takes his responsibilities seriously.

He appoints people to head up emergency management groups all over the state who are supposed to handle this sort of thing, they're doing a great job given the situation.

You still haven't proven that Rick Perry hasn't taken his responsibilities seriously, you can't even tell us what his responsibilities are. Let's be completely honest here, you couldn't care less about wild fires or the people of Texas, you just saw an opportunity to bash Rick Perry because he's a potential threat to Obama in 2012 therefore you've spent most of this thread bashing him based on praying or his hair.

I take these threads as a clear sign of how scared liberals really are about Obama losing in 2012 which you should be. Now are you going to actually talk about the wild fires in TX and Rick Perry's responsibilities that he's not handling or will you continue to make stupid jokes about hair gel or prayer meetings?

I certainly understand your inability to answer the question. And of course it is related to the matter at hand.

For being such an eminently fair and on-topic question, jojo sure doesn't seem to be in any hurry to answer it, eh?

How about Obama, how's he doing with taking his responsibilities seriously? I noticed your ignored my earlier post:

May 8th 2010:
1. Nashville & more than 30 counties are reeling from the flood that happened that week- lives lost, homes destroyed, schools still closed, businesses ruined, 1/2 of the water treatment facilities not operable, etc.

2. BP Oil spill containment attempt not working. 5,000 barrels a day spilling into the ocean, threatening wildlife, businesses, etc.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2010/...6430AR20100508

3. The failed Time Square bombing attempt happened one week prior, which Obama called, "sobering reminder of the times in which we live."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Ti...ombing_attempt

And what's Obama doing on May 8th?

Perhaps Obama should learn to fiddle instead of play golf.

Would these posters bashing Perry for not single handedly putting out each and every fire in Texas be the same that bashed NJ Governor Christie for not being in in NJ when that bad snowstorm hit last year ?
Would these also be the same posters who defend Obama for not being where folks want him when emergencies happen ?

I'm sure the Governor is being kept informed but his job is to govern. Firemen put out fires, not Governors.

FEMA says 'no' to Texas wildfire aid
The agency decided that Texas didn’t need the additional support right now because FEMA is providing the state with Fire Management Assistance Grants (FMAG), FEMA spokeswoman Rachel Racusen said. Texas has received 25 grants which covered 75 percent of emergency response needs for every fire, she said.

“This administration, through FEMA, has been working closely with the state throughout the duration of these fires, and we are supporting the firefighting efforts,” Racusen said in a written statement. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families and peers of the fallen firefighters in Texas, and the families and communities being impacted by these wildfires, and we continue to thank the firefighters and first responders who have been heroically working around the clock.”

Perry’s letter said the FEMA grants cover less than 15 percent of the total costs to respond to a fire.

“This deficit is emphasized when the large number of fires exceeds the number of approved FMAGs,” the letter stated.
