Actually we'd rather the federal gov. just give us some of the money we paid them back so we can handle things on our own.

He could start organizing a mega volunteer group to deal with and help prevent the fires from spreading. He could also organize a mega volunteer group to help those who have been rendered homeless.

In other words, Rick Perry has an opportunity to put action where his mouth is!

Because my Texas tax dollars have been going to fight natural disasters in your state for decades.

A mega volunteer group has already been organized, hundreds of volunteers from all over the area showed up in Eagle Lake TX yesterday and helped keep a fire there under control. Those same people are helping people who lost their homes or property. The people of TX are stepping up and handling things, it would be nice if we could get some of our money back though.

While Texas Governor Rick Perry has been whining that his state has not received enough money from the federal government for firefighting assistance, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been quietly shipping mega-bucks to his state. Here is a list of 25 FEMA Fire Management Assistance declarations and grants for the state of Texas since January 1, 2011:

Liberal dimbulbs!! Use natural disasters for political fodder.

Maybe you liberals should go to Texas and get a taste of how they deal with your ilk. Texans would be glad to mail your teeth back to you after you leave.

And? Those are individual disaster declarations from FEMA, not grants.

Well gee. Texas sure seems like a friendly state that would be high on my list to visit- right after "Deliverance" county!

Sorry about the wildfires that this global warming environment is causing. I just think your governor should be there to help. Is that so wrong?

Those aren't grants, those are individual declarations by FEMA. Can you read?

I want all of the money that TX paid to the fed, yes.
