you always have a choice.

vote for who you like, not who you are told to vote for.

what a radical concept, isnt it?

if you like perry or whoever, go ahead and vote for him. dont just vote for whoever though because the GOP tells you to vote for them.

As many conservatives see it, this election is about the direction America will take in the future. Any of the GOP candidates will deviate greatly from the disastrous direction Obama has taken us. Obama has defined the boundaries of this election, not the GOP. I will vote for a ticket that has a chance of winning and one that promises a change in direction. The rate of change may differ among the GOP candidates but the rate concerns me less than whether or not the change occurs.

Are people really that blind to their own party to see that there really isn't that big of a difference between the R's and D's. I mean really. Wasn't it Bush's policies that got us in this mess to begin with? Besides Obamacare how has policy been that different since Bush was in office? This will be my 4th presidential election that I will be able to vote in and I am quickly becoming apathetic to the whole process. The media (including the supposed "free thinkers" like Hannity, Levin, O'Reilly and Libo) picks the "winners" and obviously their choices aren't working out too well for us.

Robin Koerner: "First Do No Harm": Constitutional and Conservative Liberals

"Something is surely afoot when the "extremists" are advocating such extreme positions as not invading countries without declaring war, spending no more than revenues, using money that is worth something and not passing laws that allows government agents to invade the privacy of citizens without cause, and the "moderates" are advocating spending trillions more than we earn, dropping bombs on people who don't threaten us, giving money to people who destroy value, and voiding the fourth amendment without so much as a "by the way"."

Neither Obama or either of the two GOP "front runners" will bring us the change that we desperately need. It'd be nice to get someone that actually works for us for a change but you're not going to get that if you go for who the media has picked out.

His record looks great. 10 years experience as an executive of a state that has a robust growing economy and is doing pretty well. But then when he says things like calling Social Security a Ponzi scheme (I agree but that is not going to get him elected in November) and saying that Christianity is the religion that should guide the country (NOT in agreement), quite frankly the man is beginning to sound more like Bachman and less like somebody moderate enough to win a general election. And then Bachman brought out the vaccination mandate that Perry issued by executive fiat which resulted in some teenagers becoming mentally retarded, I am honestly turned off. I don't know how he can stand there and carp about Obamacare with a record like that. I am really swinging back to Romney at this point.
You certainly are flip-flopping between two losers. Frankly, it doesn't matter which one you pick. Neither hasn't a chance in hell of unseating President Obama.

Perry is repulsive and so is Romney. Both look great in a superficial way, until either they open their mouths or their records are further scrutinized. More importantly, both are severely undermined by the simple fact that they're Republicans.

Now that is funny. Someone having second thoughts on Perry. Perry, who has never thought twice about anything. How poetic.

Why not look at Gary Johnson? He has the best record of all the "governors" running. He'll be in tonight's debate. Turns out his numbers have been higher than Huntsman's but the media hasn't let him in until now (except for the first debate) because his views aren't status quo .

Yeah the Ponzi scheme thing is great, but I can already guess how it is going to play out.

Current seniors are going to keep getting their money as they are now. However, somewhere down the road there will be a cutoff and no one else will be able to collect.

So I would imagine there will still be a Ponzi scheme under Perry the difference is that we will all know it, but still have to pay into it. If Perry doesn't promise the seniors their money they are going to wheel their Medicare scooters over to Romney.

Your comments are appropriate, given your onscreen name. Any reform to SS will actually just be a way to screw us younger people. The system can be adjusted so that we get the same deal our parents got, but instead the deal we're going to get is: pay into the system, kiss your money good-bye.
