you know I sometimes wonder where you get your ideas, in fact I often wonder that? You do know, if a senior makes over a certain amount their SS is taxed or maybe you didn't. I am pretty sure you didn't. It seems to me you would be happier living in a socialistic country cause you seem to find fault with everything unless it is a government handout.

the 9% is on what we purchase and it will do away with other taxes. Seniors, btw do not purchase nearly what the younger people do for obvious reasons. A 9% sales tax is not taxing SS.

Yes, I knew that because I completed the H & R Block (TM) Tax Course.

But the part that really sucks is where Herman Cain wants to tax the RENT paid by seniors (and everyone else) who can't buy a home.

If that's not a tax on not-having, I don't know what is.

It IS taxing SS for seniors who live on SS and who RENT because they can't buy a home. It does away with the (small amount of) income taxes embedded in rent, but does nothing about the greater amount of property taxes embedded in rent. Why Herman Cain wants me to pay more tax than my next door homeowner neighbor Bob is a puzzle.

I would never consider voting for Herman Cain. His arrogance is a real turn-off. Seems like his recent popularity has definitely gone to his head.

There is nothing wrong with Caine, and I feel right now is the best candidate for the job. Former Chairmen and CEO, on the board of directors at the Federal Reserve Bank at Kansas City. A mathematician in Ballistics as a civilian employee of the US Navy. He's got a masters from Purdue, was working for the Department of the Navy, left and worked for Coca-Cola Company as a computer systems analyst. Was a Business analyst for Pillsbury, he also was the first to analyze and take reins of Burger Kind, which was a subsidiary of Pillsbury...he managed 400 stores in Philadelphia.

At Burger King, Cain “established the BEAMER program, which taught our employees, mostly teenagers, how to make our patrons smile” by smiling themselves. It was a success: “Within three months of the program’s initiation, the sales trend was moving steadily higher.”

His successes at Burger King prompted Pillsbury to appoint him President and CEO of another subsidiary, Godfather's Pizza. Cain arrived on April 1, 1986, and told employees that, "I'm Herman Cain and this ain't no April Fool's joke. We are not dead. Our objective is to prove to Pillsbury and everyone else that we will survive." Aiming to cut costs, Cain, over a 14-month period, reduced the company from 911 stores to 420. As a result of his efforts, Godfather's Pizza became profitable.

In a leveraged buyout in 1988, Cain, Executive Vice-President and COO Ronald B. Gartlan and a group of investors, bought Godfather's from Pillsbury. Cain continued as CEO until 1996, when he resigned.

Later in 1996 he became CEO of the National Resturant Assoc., a trade group and lobby organization for the restaurant industry, where he had previously been chairman concurrently with his role at Godfather's Pizza.

Cain serves as a commentator for Fox Business. He writes a syndicated op-ed column, which is distributed by the North Star Writers Group. Until February 2011, Cain hosted The Herman Cain Show on Atlanta talk radio station News Talk 750 WSB, a Cox Radio affiliate. In 2009, Cain founded "Hermanator's Intelligent Thinkers Movement" (HITM), aimed at organizing 100,000 activists in every congressional district in the United States in support of a strong national defense, the FairTax, tax cuts, energy independence, capping government spending, and restructuring Social Security.

Cain publicly opposed the 1993/1994 health care plan of President Bill Clinton. As president-elect of the National Restaurant Association, he challenged Bill Clinton on the costs of the employer mandate contained within the bill and criticized its effect on small businesses. Bob Cohn of Newsweek described Cain as one of the primary opponents of the plan:

Cain is a no game person, he is human, he will make mistakes....however, I believe this country needs a no bull president, who is not afraid to make unpopular decissions. He is tough and old school, which this country also needs, and I believe he is the person who can get this country kick started to a stronger economy and military stands...
we're viewed as a joke by other countries for years, and we are and have become as such. I want a man in there, who is going to stop illegal immigration, ecourage education, pull for a stronger military, campaign for stricter laws facing crime, and get tough with other countries, letting them know we won't be bought, bribed or bullied. I believe he can also be a heavyweight in getting corporations to realize, it's not paying them or anyone else by going over seas....that customer service is shoddy, and America is going broke, b/c there are no jobs here....I also see him encourging people to once again, start up they're mom and pop organizations/businesses to once again, get business going and create more jobs....

Now that Christy has Endorsed Romney, well, for me that says it all, Christy hasn't cleaned up NJ, it's still corrupt and broke, Christy is simply a patsy for the mob.

I am amazed by so many posters coming in and name calling, however, that's all they do, they don't give any reasons why or why not.

Lets get jiggy with it here and post why you do or do not like someone running, instead of name calling? Whats so great about Romney? Lets get some constructive critisumn going here....I'd really like to discuss each candidate, seriously....why do you like who you like and why don't you like other candidates? I really would like to know...seriously...I might learn something constructive about the others that I didn't know...so talk me out of Cain....and why

National Restaurant Association...promoting low wages...FairTax (and 999) is a big tax hike for millions of low-wage workers.

Deadly combination here, I'll pass.

AND is is for a status quo at the fed...at least as far as Greenspan-like policy is concerned. He didn't learn that lesson yet.
