I was summarizing Cain's idiotic position. If you watch the interview you can see the two Fox News guys trying to parse what he just said. They both have the same look on their faces like a dog has after you show him a card trick.
If I say I am proud of being straight does that mean I am a bigot?
No.
But your post shows how oblivious people in the majority, whether racially or in sexual orientation, can be.
Gay pride is an expression of people's acceptance of themselves as gay, despite a long history of the majority society telling them that they were abnormal, mentally ill, sinful, and deserving of shunning, institutionalization, beating, or death. It's not a pride of "thank god I'm not straight!" It's a reaction against and a refusal to accept oppression.
Similar to how black pride arose in the 60s, as a throwing off the yoke of accepting one's inferiority just because society told you that you were lesser.
You're free to feel proud for being straight, but realize it's coming from a completely different motivation. Straights have never had a reason not to feel proud of, or ashamed of, their orientation. You should be happy for that.
Most educated people DO believe in "evolution" of some form.
Cain also picks and chooses stuff from the Bible to use to support his wacky ideas.
Since you don't know "most" of the educated people in this world it is safe to say that you are talking about the "educated" people in your "social circle". However in my "social circle" almost all of the educated people do not believe in the theory of evolution. So again this is not evidence nor proof to support your point.
Very stupid people are also educated. They just take easy curriculums at easy colleges.
