Was Romney's 47% comment so really bad? (FBI, Reed, independent, cost)

I spent 50 years working tough jobs and having payroll taxes deducted,
for this pompous slime ball to now come out and say i'm some kind of social parasite is the height of rudeness and insensitivity, however i guess if you've never worked a day in your life, never had a debt or any other how are we going to afford it moment then i can see where he would be totally oblivious to Americas working class.
Why only payroll taxes? Did you never pay any federal income taxes?
Blundered badly? Keep in mind this was not something he said in the open public, he was talking to people in a small group. There are assumptions that you take when taking to people in a setting like that, i.e., you assume they understand the context and general meaning of what you are trying to say, which allows you to speak in generalities.
All I'm saying is that he would have chosen his words differently, so as not to be misunderstood, when talking to the general public.
It's the same with Obama's "bitter, clingers" comments, they too were made to a small group, and Obama chose his words clumsily, because he knew the people understood the over arching content of what he was trying to say.
I say again, concentrate on what Obama has done, not what he or Romney say, and a 1.3% GDP growth, and 395,000 lost jobs, in the last days of his presidency, tells us all we need to know.
In his emergency press conference after the video was released Romney had all the opportunity in the world to make his statement understood and he did....he stood by what he said. He didn't walk back his erroneous "facts", didn't do anything to take the sting out of the insults he delivered. He only said he should have said them more "elegantly."
Get real, an off handed comment like that is meaningless when compared to the actions, decisions, policies and words of Obama, and our pathetic economy, and out of control Mid East. How any rational person can compare the real life consequences of Obama's actions and policies, and the damage they have wrought, and say that is compares to a few words spoken by Romney during a campaign event, is beyond me.
Should we relate all the blunders from Obama's campaign in 2008, and 2012, and all his broken promises, and his utter failure to live up to any of his economic and foreign policy predictions, IF we elected him??
I agree 100%, I'd rep you if i could.
We do not need to conjure up an imaginary scenario of what our county might look like four years after an 0bama election, like the left is doing with Romney, all we need to do is open our eyes to the reality that we see with our own eyes, and it's complete and undeniably a failure.
We do not have to wonder if 0bama will be able to keep his lofty promises, or live up to his Utopian predictions, of what he claims he will accomplish if elected, we see his broken promises and failure to deliver on those predictions, they are scattered all over the ground at our feet.

Are you an 0bama supporter who is not paying any income taxes, and would never vote for Romney under any circumstances? If not, then Romney was not talking about you.

He didn't say ONLY payroll taxes, he said he paid payroll taxes. Since he also said that he worked for 50 years, I'm going to assume he is retired and no longer working and is therefore falling in the large group of the 47%ers that are the non-working, social security drawing elderly.
He's saying that it's insulting to him to be called a social parasite when he spent 50 years paying into Social Security so that he could draw it now.

And probably paid a good share of income tax over his working life. Pretty easy to jump on people when you just assume the worst.
I guess you don't want to discuss anything said in the link. Would there be a reason for that?
I answered the question you asked in the title of your post. Aren't you happy?
And I quit reading your links. My security software kept saying "Weird Website! Weird Website! Weird Website!" So instead of going to your links and looking at a bizarre website with loony porn advertising I'm using those few minutes to do something that will actually improve my life. Win-win.
Well, I'm sure voting day will make any corrections that the population feels are necessary.
That should only happen if the president does something to cause the economy to suddenly do a complete about face, but that is not going to happen because this president is too busy campaigning, and has been phoning it in, all year.
I have not seen this president place any meetings on his schedule with the private sector business community or small, medium, large or any companies with sizes in between.
Mid East with it's hair on fire, 1.3% GDP, and losing 400,000 jobs, and not a hint that he cares enough to bother even faking that he cares. BTW, how's his jobs council doing these days, bet they are feeling abandoned.
The main problem I have with the statement is how in (censored) does he know what every one of that 47% thinks and believes? Is he the Amazing Kreskin? I wasn't going to vote for him regardless of that lame statement, but it's amusing to know he thinks he's telepathic.
This was not policy speech, it was a private conversation, and he was speaking in generalities.
I wish that were the reason but I think ignorance of what is in the link is the reason.
