I'm not so sure why the Democrats think they have such a stranglehold on the Presidency. The current President has been a two term President. Just before that, a Republican did the same. It's not like it's been decades. The Republicans didn't have it locked after their two term President, and the approval rating of the current President certainly don't suggest that the Democrats are a lock to win the next time.

Because any Republican that can capture the center needed to win the national election cannot win the primaries.

Versatile thinks you should stay on thread. We are not talking about those people. Versatile thinks you should start your own thread.

Anybody have a sensible reply?
Explain how or why this is "Whacko". Look deeper at who we have had run and who has won in the past. Don't you wonder why these people are considered the best of the best? because it should be clear that there are a lot more qualified people in the world. Think about it and I will be looking forward to you explaining how this is a "Whacko-conspiracy-theory viewpoint".

Who is responsible for "forwarding the candidates"?

I blame the low voter turnout rate for the primaries

That's what the politics of pandering and victimhood gets the GOP, and they really suck at doing either one. The dems have pandering, bald faced lying, and the whole victimhood game down to an art form.

In all honesty, most of Romney's negatives were lies and slander because Obama was awful and that was the only way that he could win.

There is a point to be made though, that the GOP has some weak potential candidates...Huckabee, Santorum, Cruz, etc...
