They have a colon cancer screening program in the UK They do not rely upon routine colonscopies as much as we do in the US, but that is because they have not found it to be of any greater value than less invasive tests for people who are not at high risk for colon cancer. Yup - as a Brit who moved over here I look at my doctor in disbelief every time she asks me if I want one

Plus, it just sounds like...a very unpleasant procedure.

I'm not looking forward to getting older.

A lot of those diagnostic tests do more harm than good especially when done often or in young people but this is probably not the right thread to discuss this.

I have had doctors' offices make me sign papers for refusing to take them. Some doctors are more understandable than others but I do feel they are testing less than lets say 20 years ago, thank God.

Those low income pays nothing. Trust me, when my husband was in the hospital, the guy who shared the same room was either homeless or poor. He told my husband he paid nothing. I know you are the complaining sort of poster. Nothing is enough for you. Not health care, not retirement, nothing.
I'm the "complaining sort of poster"? that's a good one! Go back and read your posts in this thread and tell me who is complaining...I could list them here for you, but I don't want to embarrass you.
