Elizabeth contributed to an Indian cookbook 30 years ago. Does that sound like someone trying to gain something?
Apparently a lot of people are brought up told something similar and then find out differently as adults. There's a long thread about this that started back in 2010 in the Genealogy forum at C-D:

I don't care what or if she gained anything. Just because you don't actually gain by your underhanded actions do not make them any better.

Warren is another one of these people who only care about one thing. Herself.
Yes, because you of course know her family personally and can attest to that very fact .

Not a one will back her story.

She quit marking the box once she got what she wanted.

Her brothers have backed her story and what did she gain? Multiple researchers have looked and cannot find that she gained anything at all.

"but neither is there any evidence that she benefited professionally from these stories."

Is Elizabeth Warren Native American or What? - The Atlantic

Yes, because, you know, they had the same parents?! Their parents raised them telling them they had Native American heritage. So yes, her brothers. Shocking!!!

and if I were a native American I would be livid with her for claiming she is something she is not.

So?

A legal scholar should know the standard for being classified as a Native American. Most non legal scholars know, especially those claiming it.

It's insulting to those disadvantaged groups when people like Warren claim benefits under it.

Gain is irrelevant. Gain plays no role. She lied. Gain is not what we base the rightness of a lie on.

I can not understand how it is that people are not sick and tired of these kinds of people that have no qualms about lying.

Who better to back her statement? The neighbors three doors down from where they grew up?
