Don
Many of us want him to damage the party.

Sander and Trump both agree that Obamacare needs scrapped (though they differ on the fix). Hillary has said she would keep it.

But what they want to REPLACE IT is totally different - so WHY should they vote for Trump? The GOP approach is POLAR OPPOSITE from what they want. There is NO WAY IN HELL, they will side with the GOP on this issue.

Hillary and Sanders disagree on the bail outs.

So? Past history - so what?

Hillary and Sanders disagreed on Iraq and our war efforts.

So? Past history - so what?

Those are all very big and important disagreements.
You're dreaming if you think many Sanders voters will vote for Trump. Sanders voters lean towards SOCIALISM. They are NOT in any significant numbers going to vote for a REPUBLICAN. Differences with Hillary DO NOT equate to commonalities with Trump and the GOP in any way, shape or form.
Get real!

Past history is indicative of future actions; Hillary wanted a no-fly zone in Syria and wants to overthrow their Government, she was pushing for war in Libya and supported overthrowing their Government. She supported the military coup in Honduras and the fraudulent election after.

Most Bernie supporters will not vote for Trump but they will vote for Jill Stein or Gary Johnson. Others will vote for Clinton due to the overestimation and fear of what Trump can do/will be.

I've said a hundred times that Sanders voters are not going to vote for Trump. More importantly, they are not going to vote for Hillary either.

Yep. I'm pretty much left with Stein after Johnson showed his direction when he picked Weld.

The 2 bold statements contradict each other.

I think you said that backwards, but either way, it is wrong. A majority will vote for Hillary.

I said what I meant. Even with a simple majority, she loses.

She doesnt need a majority if Bernie voters actually equal out to the amount of Dems and independents that the exit polls claim.

She just needs 42% of all independents 89% of Democrats and equal turnout to 2012. Those number would win her the election.

Actually, this is not his party and is unlikely to be his party in the future. He caucuses with Democrats but that's about it.

Here's what will likely happen.

Democrats will slot a spot at the convention for Bernie to rally his young "Berniecrats." Maybe 9 am when most of them will still be sleeping. There will be problems with the sound system.

There will be protests outside which are largely ignored inside.

Some of his proposals will be included on the "platform" which is then largely ignored.

Once the vote is taken, the Secret Service will disappear. However, Bernie will travel the country supporting progressive candidates in the run up to the election. This will give him a platform but once it is clear that that there will be no free college tuition, the crowds will dwindle and the media attention will be minimal. (This phenomena is already happening. Only about a thousand showed up for his speech in NY a night or so ago. Not much media coverage.)

After the election, he will largely be ignored.
