The generally accepted definition of socialism is 'collective (in practice, government) ownership of the means of production. By this definition, tariffs would not be socialist. I don't think they are generally a good idea, but they're not 'socialist.'
The USPS is a good example of what is socialist--it's gov't ownership/operation of the means of production.
Fine. No one is arguing for that so knock it off with the name calling.
If Canada is a 5 I'd have to give the USA at least a 5. We may have less Socialism for people overall like health care but we have far more than Canada does for our financial markets.
Again, you seem to be outstanding at .... missing the point. Good work.

Not true; in fact plenty of people are calling for that. Have you heard of 'Democratic Socialists of America?" group that AOC belongs to). They have over 56,000 members. On of their members ran in my CD in 2018, and got 32% of the vote. That was 77,222 votes.
Check their website; they advocate socialism, in the sense that I defined it above. Bernie does too, he's just slightly more coy about it than AOC and the DSA.

I'm not going to search for something you say exists. If it does and you have read it post it.
You can read their own site, or here is an article in the latest issue of The New Republic, written by a DSA member. You can read it, or stay in denial if you wish. Makes no difference to me... https://newrepublic.com/article/1537...cal-mainstream

That's not how discussion on a site like this works. If you make a claim, it's on you to post something in support.
Quit being lazy.
As for the articles......
When Did Everyone Become a Socialist?”
One can make other arguments but at least as far back as the creation of the Federal Reserve.

What does this even mean? Who said that 'Everyone' has become a socialist?
You said 'No one is arguing for that' (socialism defined as 'government ownership of the means of production.') I gave you 56,000 examples showing otherwise. Why not just admit you were wrong and move on?
BTW I forgot to mention that Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D,MI) is also involved with DSA, along with AOC, which you know if you read the TNR link. I believe these 2 (along with Ilhan Omar) are driving much of the agenda in the Democratic party these days. Just look how far left the Dem prez. field is going.
The Dems goal is socialism (globalism too) and all their policies and programs up to now have been to make things so bad for some people, make them so dependent, that they see socialism as the best choice. You'll see high support for it in the worst places, Dem ruled places of course.
