They will only complain that liberal elitists didn't get to decide the presidency.

Same thing I "hoped for" last Election.

LAW to be followed, IF the CongressCrittters don't like current LAW or want to follow current LAW -- then they should get off their Hobby Horse and change the LAW.

I want Justice for all and not just for chosen Elite people.
I want those who break LAW to go to Jail, just as us commoners would have to go to Jail.

Schadenfreude lulz? Increased tension that gets us closer to a real civil war?

Same as every election, no matter who wins.

Dude....where the heck do you live? I don't think I've even visited a place like that. I'm guessing you mean the Middle East?

For the next 335 days, I expect to get a lot of entertainment and a lot of frustration because my choice for POTUS (Gabbard or Delaney) won't be on the ballot, and it will be both frustrating and entertaining to see the remaining idiot candidates (Trump and all the Democrat front runners) continue to compete to see who can make the most ridiculous promises and lies.

What I hope to get AFTER the election, however, is just to be able to maintain my personal current financial situation, to avoid any more U.S. involvement in war (best case for me would be for the U.S. to get out of the Middle East altogether), for liberals and conservatives to learn to be more polite to each other when they disagree, and for all the extremists on both ends of the political spectrum to just go away or at least shut up!

Very realistic probability of this happening!

-- Except, note about "your longshot choice becoming the nominee (Dem? or 22-24?) and winning the general" seems to contradict the rest of the post (?) -- To whom are you referring?

Trump out Dem's in is not a response. Dem's out Trump and the House in is not a response. It's a brain screw and nothing more.

What do you, PERSONALLY, hope to gain from the next election?

If the question is too complicated, there in itself is the problem.

Me, I hope the economy keeps rolling. I don't have a 401k, however, I do have investments which I hope will keep rolling up. I also have two mortgages which I hope to refi with lower rates.

I care about my family and those two items would benefit them the most.
Yang wins in a landslide UBI gets passed and Americans can finally with the economic boot of there throats pursue there passions and dreams.

Same as always: that no one restricted group gains power, that no one does anything stupid, that no one gets hurt. In other words, Constitutional government with diffusion of power as designed.

Economically, I would like to see a set of integrated policies designed to offer more, or restore, opportunities for average people to generate earned income through their own businesses and labor.

We cannot continue forever with a large swathe of the population consuming way more than earned income on credit generated by an impaired global financial system, zombie banks, and illegality.

But the US economy is so big, and vital parts of it highly efficient, that we got away with it, more or less, for about 30 years, until it started to unravel around 2008-2009, and we've been living with the consequences since then (see above).

But a solution would require broad vision, commitment to the economy on US soil, and leadership.

Not enough of that going around.

At least we can vote for the lesser of evils.

Good Luck!
