The fact is that the Democrats are not this left wing socialist block that Republican politicians like their base to believe. There are many moderate ones and you can even see that Biden winning the nomination was more of the moderate side over the further left. There are certain things like HealthCare were even moderate Democrats will seem too far left to many Republicans. But I think the nation as a whole is more to the left that’s Republicans on that issue.

I think that hopefully now we can pass things like Infrastructure, COVID relief, Health Care bills which went nowhere under Trump/ McConnell

I think she will end up with much more power than just that position. I would think making her the head of the DNC would be wise for them.

Maybe it wont be as bad as people are saying - I'm talking about Dems controlling 3 branches of government. I think its the "Chicken Little" thing where we have been hearing the sky is falling so many times. I have a feeling, it wont be as bad as some are hollering.

I think they wont be able to destroy the country as we are being told today.

however, i hate Biden so much that he will always be NOT my president.. however, i don't think it will be as bad as they have been warning us about. wait and see.

I know a LOT of life long Republicans who feel exactly as you do. My husband is one of them. I was a registered Republican for over 4 decades, but after seeing what Trump and the MAGA crowd were doing to the party I changed my registration to Independent. He’s still a registered Republican, but voted for Biden. The Republicans have a lot of soul searching to do and lots of changes to make to bring anyone I know back into the fold.

i've been saying for more than 4years that trump will do more damage to the GOP than any democtat could ever dream of doing.

GA is the first sign of the damage trump has done to the party but i expect 2022 to be the real evidence of the split in the GOP.

They are united in opposition to Trump, but they are divided when it's comes to action.

Remember the #1 issue for ALL politicians is getting re-elected. A lot of Dems won't jump on the crazy train because of #1, they want to get re-elected and the mid-terms will be here before you know it.

Will David Perdue claim that he (in the 1st election in November) received more votes than Ossoff (in either the 1st election or the run-off) and was therefore the choice of more people in Georgia and should continue to serve as Senator for Georgia? While Perdue received less votes in the run-off than in November, so did Ossoff.

Perdue (1st election) : 2,462,617
Ossoff (1st election) : 2,374,519
Ossoff (Run-off) : 2,211,603 (still counting but not enough to catch up to the 1st election)
Perdue (Run-off) : 2,194,578 (still counting but not enough to catch up to the 1st election)

I don't think people realize that Joe Manchin (D-WV) will make sure nothing *too* progressive gets passed (conservatives shouldn't be scared).

For those of us who want a functioning government that has a chance of doing the things the people in this country actually want, this is great news.
