Here's the main question: The GOP tried through new legislation to hinder means of voting which were successfully used by blocs which don't normally vote Republican. None of this was to make the vote more secure.

Isn't that un-American? If the GOP is so great why don't the Republicans try to get more converts through more communication instead of trying to keep some folks from voting? the vote-hindering efforts are undemocratic.

That's really vague.
Specifically "Souls to the polls" is the practice of churches organizing trips to the polling places on Sunday early voting days. It is only for early voting. Can you figure out why?
Sunday voting in Georgia has ALWAYS been optional and detemined by each county.
Some counties have offered it, some have never offered it.
The most recent voting law (SB 202) mandate two days of Saturday voting plus allows two days of Sunday voting as an option for each county. Each county decides for itself and always has, but what has changed is that offering Saturday used to be optional, but now it is required for every county.
As in the past, some counties do Sunday voting, some do not.

How was it affected by the recent Georgia election law changes?

Sigh. No, Georgia did not ban Sunday voting.
We've been over this. Every major news source has explained that Sunday voting was not banned.
It's optional now and it was optional before. The big counties (Fulton, Dekalb, etc) had Sunday voting before and they still have Sunday voting.
How can you not know this?

By the way, Sunday voting is a new thing. Here's an article from 2014.
I know people think that "souls to the polls" is some old-time tradition, but that is simply not true.

"It’s the first time any local authority in Georgia has decided to open the polls to voters on a Sunday, despite no ban on the practice in state law. State law only mandates that at least one Saturday be reserved for early voting, but otherwise the schedule is left up to local officials. "

All of it was to make the vote more secure. Read the 2000 mules thread and you might learn something.

Here's the fact. Its much easier to vote in Georgia than in Colorado, where MLB moved the all-star game or New York state.

The main reason Dems are objecting is that it makes it harder for them to cheat. Nobody doesn't vote because they don't have an ID. The secondary reason is that they think lazy, uninformed voters who will only vote if they can mail it in are more likely to vote Democrat.
