Well, let's see. Obama enjoyed every benefit of the elite in our society -- private schools, Harvard, mansion, etc. -- and he STILL joined a church that regularly rants against white people and counts racists among his closest friends. Sheesh, what would he have been like if he had actually been held captive for five years and TORTURED by white people?

McCain was expressing his anger about the people who tortured him -- not against the whole race. And since the people who tortured him also killed and tortured their own countrymen, I would suspect that a lot of Vietnamese people would share his sentiments.

I have never heard Obama called a racist. Remember he's black, he can't be a racist politician, only White folks can. Besides one of McCain's adopted Children is Asian from Bangladesh. **** and even the politically correct term of "Viet Cong" are derogatory terms used against the Communist Vietnamese, it's a non issue and Obama is smarter than to use this as a spin especially against a highly decorated war veteran and POW.

Sentiments and words are different.
I doubt that any Vietnamese refer to other Vietnamese people as gooks.

I see what you are saying. It's like you call a black person who robs you a N and the black community would share your sentiments.

Doesn't matter that he didn't say it; he's thinking it.

A non-issue. Asian-American conservatives/Republicans that are supporting McCain will still support him regardless. Those that don't still won't. Nothing to do with him uttering racial slurs (or not).

For the record, Obama have been called a racist many times. Both in cable news and on this forum. Check out the bulk of anti-Obama threads.

Just as soon as Santa Claus gifts wraps it for the Easter Bunny to deliver it. Then you and the Tooth Fairy can watch it together.

But as far as I'm concerned, it'll get you a broken face.
