I disagree with everything you said. he didn't grow up struggling. he went to prestigious private schools his entire life. he admitted using affirmative action to his advantage. he also won his senate position because the people he was running against ran into problems and one even dropped out. he basically ran unopposed. he became a community organizer because he didn't want a real job. in fact, I don't know of any real job he has had in his entire life. john wayne gacy was also a community organizer for the democrat party in chicago. is he trying to repair the rift between the left and the right by having the most liberal voting record in congress? don't really know how that brings parties together. people who say that he is not the right color for some people are just in denial that they support an extremist.

It seems to me that the anger is because of all the reasons that you've listed. Except that those who dislike him see everything exactly the opposite. He didn't get to where he is because of hard work, he achieved his status because of his race and affirmative action.
In fact he would be just another shmo if he didn't have his name and his skin color, or so they say.
They will say that he preys on the fears of the working man by suggesting that the government play a role in trying to level the playing field in terms of taxes, healthcare, and workers pay, many will call him a socialist because of his plans. Others will see this as much needed attempt to realize the needs of many hard working Americans.
Many heard his speech in 2004 and felt fearful because he was talking about our similarities, rather than our differences, this was seen as a push towards a communistic mentality, rather than a message of healing.
People will look at his foreign policy ideas and say that they are idealistic and not tough enough for today's world, while others will say that it is about time for a realistic and diplomatic approach.
It all depends on your perspective. I hate to throw racism around, because I do believe that there are many who just blatently oppose his policy and political idealogy, however I know that race does in fact play a role in some minds. It would be completely unrealistic to say that racism is not an issue, for those people, they will never admit to it and they probably don't even realize it themselves, so arguing the point is an unproductive exercise. So, Obama bashers will continue to bash, Obama supporter will continue to support, and those in the middle will hopefully take everything under consideration and make a good choice.

I could not agree with you more! I saw a piece on CNN a few days ago where they found two people who expressed racist attitudes. I wonder how many people they had to interview before they found the "right ones". I am not trying to say that there are not racist attitudes but they are not confined to the white race.
I have no problem with his accomplishments, I have a problem with:
His view on entitlement programs
His view on tax policy
His view on foreign policy
His view on corn based ethanol
His continuously shifting political positions
Exactly. The guy's gonna be like a Santa Clause to the poor. Also, he thinks anyone making over $85,000 a year is rich. He also routinely lumps small business owners like my dad (2 employees) into the same category as Fortune 500 companies. That couldn't be farther from the truth...

How? With 2 employees your dad's business is a small business...?
I'd say he's got more to worry about from his own party right now.
The republicans are just sitting back, taking notes, waiting for their turn in the fall.
