Sounds like a power crazed, controlling, narrow-minded religious freak.....typical republican....this is what "hockey moms" do??

And the repubs wonder why we're scared????

But, when she gets to the Smithsonian or the Library of Congress I think threatening to fire people won't work....what a shock that will be to Queen Sara.

She opened a dialogue with the librarian asking what the process was to ban books that could MORALLY offend her voters. From what I have read, no specific books were discussed. When the librarian objected to the censorship, she was fired.

Take a look at the list of books people most often try to ban for morality reasons, you'll be surprised to see what's on there.

So...it was a discussion. And librarian wasn't fired when she objected, from what I read. She was fired after the conversation.

Because of it? Maybe...or maybe not.

I'm just saying.

I just want to know what the "Certain Books" are.... not what the most likely challanged books are.

I would find the a copy of the Anarchist's Cookbook to be morally offensive in my local library. I would find a copy of a Penthouse to be morally offenive in my local library.

A library canNOT cater to the whims of individuals and shouldn't!

Should libraries ban books on religion because someone doesn't agree with their philosophies?? NO!

Should libraries ban books on hunting and fishing because someone thinks it's cruelty to animals/ NO!

The point is Palin had no right to try to ban any books or fire or threaten to fire anyone no matter what her constituents wanted.

Her job is to DEFEND the freedom of speech!

So what? Part of living free is tolerating others' taste in books.

Thank God, because someone has got to stop this small-minded power-driven woman!

Remember McCain's security strong-arming this ferocious librarian?
John McCain's Security Detail Kicks 61-Year-Old Librarian Out Of Town Hall Meeting (VIDEO)

This is the censorship we all can look forward to from the McCain/Palin team.

So you are all right with censorship as long as you are in agreement with what should be censored? What of the opinions of others? This is why censorship is wrong.

So far no one has provided any proof at all that the librarian was fired as a direct result of this conversation with Palin, nor has there been any proof that the librarian was not fired for good cause, even if her firing was related to the conversation. For example, did she become disrespectful to Palin, and refuse to answer her questions? That could be grounds for being fired.
