This is arrogance to an extreme.
Kansas has very good schools. North and South Dakota have very good schools, even though they don't waste excessive amounts of money on them.... like your liberal states do to no avail.
Texas is reported to have excellent schools.
Utah, Montana, Idaho... I don't think any of those are in the lower ranks....
Also, education has nothing to do with racism. Racism is alive and well in New England and the west coast, just as much as it is in any other part of the country.
You still believe that McCain states are educated? Face it, the less intelligent states voted for the republican once again... and this proves it.
I think the graphics prove a point. If the map showed an equal scattering all over the US I would say there is nothing to it. But the map shows a definite pattern and reinforces existing stereotypes of that region.
Then I must have misread your opening post:
"Also known as the "I hate black people" belt"
You show areas that voted more Republican in '08.
Then you refer to them as hating black people.
Therefore the only reason to vote against Obama is if you are a racist.
They aren't necessarily areas that voted republican in '08. In fact a lot of the red counties on that map voted majority democrat. These are the counties that voted at a higher proportion for Kerry than they voted for Obama. Notice that Utah is not red at all, and the upper Midwest is hardly red.
Take Knott County, Kentucky for example. Kerry won by 8% in 2004. Obama lost by 28% in 2008. I am looking for theories on why this might be.
