Well I can't speak for everyone but I don't spend much time staring at flaccid penises to really care if its aesthetically more pleasing and erect they generally look the same.

As a ridiculous superstition. At least that's how I see it.

My parents did skin my hands though. It helps prevent infections, and the flesh is much more aired.

You are mistaken, it is normal in Canada to be circumcised, I am circumcised and while I don't regularly see penises, when I'm somewhere like a locker room my impression is that a slight majority of guys seem to be circumcised. Also, the impression I've gotten from my female friends on a few rare conversations has been that most guys they've been with have been circumcised.

EDIT: Wikipedia article on this topic for Canada, breaking it down by age group. Looks like it's been popular and unpopular at different periods in Canadian history and has varied by region and province:

Really ? Well, you learn something new every day. I honestly thought the situation in North America was similar to the one in Europe, where circumcision is only practised by (mostly muslim and jewish) minorities.

Some say it's because of hygiene. But we boys were learned on quite an early age to wash and clean the foreskin every day - and so I do .

32% doesn't seem particularly popular.

I gave up extra when just a wee lad. Saved the skin of 20 burn victims.
