I mean by "third world country" a poor, undeveloped country, plagued with political corruption, with a small rich elite(politician, bankseters, patrons...), a broad mass of poor population, almost deindustrializated ...
I thought about that after a friend of mine sent me a pic from a humor magazine.
I have I read about the new measure the Spanish government is preparing to degrade even further the working condiitons, lower salaries, free dismissal... for amost any reason... if you get sick two weeks... or the boss don't like your shoes.
I we're already not a third world country we are catching up Somalia pretty fast.
Yes, that is what happens wen you consume too much, and make very little of what really matters. All this European socialist living with four month vacations and overprice ham crap....how do you think your country is going to fund those generous retirements? Lazy, entitled people will always lead to bankruptcy. This is true of a family, and it is true of a nation too. Yes, France is next. The only country worth its economic salt is Germany.
You may want to learn a little from the Chinese idea of hard work and thrift.
No, it's not. I guess many people know nothing about what the third world is like (even though I think the concept of 'third world' is totally oudated).

Spanish common people is hard working and it's extremely rare to find corruption among low level funcionaries, police...
Almost all factories in Spain from multinationals like citroen, volkswage, michelin, mercedes-benz... have the worldwide productivity records.
The problem is the economical elite who rules the country, throught their politician puppets.
The only issue with the spainsh people is that they were very confident in their liders.
The OP is Spanish, so it's more an auto-bashing. Is the typical Spanish mindset (actually southern European in general), Spain is the worst country in Europe and everything northern to the Pyrenees is a uncorrupted social paradise of equality, peace and justice.
First World were/are (?) countries aligned with Capitalism and NATO.
Second World would then be the countries aligned with Communism.
Ten finally *Third World* would be all the other *developing nations*.
Even the post above, depicting *Third World* countries, does NOT mention First or Second World !
Just the legend : *Not Third world*
Sadly a lot of people use the term *Third World*,
without knowing what the First World or Second World really is/was ...
So ... , I would not say that Spain, is or was considered a *Third World Country*
Is it becoming *like* a Third World Country ?
Who knows !
I mentioned the word *like*, because of what the situation (politically or otherwise) is, at the moment.
I would just call it *Badly in trouble* ?
But then ... , which country is not *in trouble*, somewhere !
For each country, just substitute another version of *badly*
