Perhaps it could have been done in a more efficient/timely manner but I don't think we'll ever know for sure.

There is the whole other level why I resent China, not just the way the "Chinese government handled the outbreak."

Some things in China will never change.
Russia has a lot of land and low population density, but lifestyle is pretty much the same, both live in high rise commi blocks with small apartments.

Correct.

On one hand Russians love a lot of space and nature, ( which they have plenty,) on another hand, they are very "communal" creatures, and love to stay "in groups."

Then is it a lack of travelers? Really, who wants to go visit Russia in winter? Not many I know. Could it be that also in this? Russians don't travel far from home in winter? I never looked at the numbers.

Agreed. You're right on the mark when it comes to their food preparation techniques. I will see China but I'll be damned fussy about what I eat there.

I am not sure I understand your question.

Are you asking about the possible reasons why there is no such virulent spread of the virus in Russia so far, in spite of the proximity to China?

Nope, it's not about the "food preparation techniques" - not exactly.
It's about the whole "philosophy" behind it, what's considered "normal" and what's not.
Because every nation out there has its own spirit so speak, and understanding of the "cultural normalcy."

This should be expected with a stream of Russian citizens returning from EU countries (Italy first of al,) and landing in Moscow. Particularly if to keep in mind that Moscow has the most mixed population of the whole country. ( Same story as in New York basically...)
This is that "second wave" of the virus coming from Europe, while the "first wave" ( coming from China) left Russia undamaged for the most part.

But they were predicting it in Moscow, so they've built a big hospital designated to deal with specifically CV contamination from what I remember.

Yes. That's what I was wondering about. It seems it's becoming apparent now though. They don't have good numbers. I don't think many do.
