And that's the key understanding ( along with couple of other factors) to why all this "counting" is wrong (modern Russian dictionaries do not include pre-Peter's archaisms and in case of staple Ushakov's dictionaries, - nothing even from pre-Pushkin's times.)

Stupid languages having so many variations. At least in this aspect Finnish is easy. "Lauma" is a flock/herd/anything for mammals, and "parvi" is for birds and fishes.

Yes it does. In Gomel the Kruschovskis my sister in law lived in had color coded trim for each building. It's also done to brighten up the bleak monochrome landscape in winter. It helps maintain color vision also.
