I found the most crazy drivers in Italy and Greece, the Portuguese drive so fast but they usually respect rules like lights or zebra crossing.
I drove in Switzerland and I felt like people are quite good drivers and slow, but motorways are narrow!
Good thread I will look a it more deeply in future.
my girlfriend and I spent four days in Lisbon last year , we were amazed at how fast people drive in that city

Well, I never have experienced how they drive in the Randstad. Just I noticed how being a pedestrian in Amsterdam is not a scary experience.
Anyway, driving on the A-58 motorway all the way from Middelburg to Eindhoven was a great experience for me.

Yes in those parts it's great driving, I agree. But that's a very quiet part of the country.
A58, Eindhoven-Bergen op Zoom is one of the busiest highways in the Netherlands outside the Randstad.
The part in brabant only. The part in Zeeland is very quiet. And even the part in brabant is nice and easy compared to the randstad like A15, A13, A4 etc

Well, I just went from Middelburg to Tilburg on Saturday, then to Eindhoven on Sunday at sunrise, then back to Tilburg on Sunday at early afternoon, and finally from Tilburg to Brugge on Monday at morning rush hour, so everything was right, though it was a busy nightmare in Antwerp.
Funny thing was the way how the A-58 had more than 40% of cars with German plates, and they even were driving carefully at 120 km/h or so, just bellow the variable speed limit from 120 to 130 km/h all the time, lol.
I'm used to driving in Madrid region, which is probably as busy as the Randstad because each of them are similar in population, and I would say I found the A-58 just easy and quiet to me.

Yes a big amount of Germans go on holidays in Zeeland every year, so in summer time there's easily 40% or more German cars on that route. Lot of people here think Germans drive like crazy because they don't have a speed limit on the autobahn, but actually they're very abiding drivers.
Lots of time I took the autobahn through Germany on holidays and they drive at very high speeds indeed, but as soon as there is a speeding limit, they all go back to 120 km/hr or what ever the limit is. And the only ones that didn't respect the speed limit and kept going the same speed were Dutch...
