UE becoming a single country? No need for that, the "union" is composed of countries (eg Germany) and its vassals. Germany is very much to the UE what Russia was to the USSR. Despite what many will say the UE isn't much more democratic than the USSR.
The average German isn't too happy with the EU either. We see ourselves as the ones who pay the party. It are too different mentalities within the EU, this will not work well economically.

You are right, the Germans are paying for the party. And that's why Germany has a lot of influence in the EU.
Obviously, that is not the German's citizens fault. It's the EU that's the problem.
I can't see how anyone could have thought that having different countries with different sized economies could work in a situation where they all try to be one economic zone. It's obvious that the richer countries would pay more into it, and hence, be more in charge, than those in the poorer countries who end up as recipients 'with strings attached'.
It's like asking when will Africa be one big harmonic union... totally out of touch with reality. This dystopia might give you a fuzzy feeling to which you can mentally jerk off too but that's about it.
You seem to have the view that peace and stability is not possible between souvereign nations. Where do you get the idea? Is it not disproved by the fruitful collaboration between european nations in the second half of the 20th century?
Especially erroneus is you thought that leaders should decide this - against the will of the population they represent. This is not a recipe for peace, but for civil unrest.
The problem with further unifying a large number of nations with strong national identity is that people of each country will feel that they are not sufficiently represented by the democratic institutions of this superstate, therefor they will feel that the institutions of this superstate should not have authority over them. (Which already is what many people think of the European Parliament, Commission and court of law today) There would be a huge backlash of nationalism.
By the way, if you knew anything about Europe you would know that one major source of strife and bloodshed in the last decades is not conflict between the European nations, but the influence of separatist movements! Groups that want independence from their nation because they feel it does not and should not represent their interest. You want more of that?

Firstly the people (the masses) don't always know what they want until they get it. That in any case is a fact they aren't supposed to know, they are supposed to want peace and prosperity and progress.
In the long run sovereign nations can't co-exist because we are all humans and separating us into fractions is unstable, overall the end goal will be a single united world.
Once again strong national identity is the problem, and if you accuse the EU of not representing all member states fairly then I can only say that is because the EU never went all the way with one representative body working to improve the education and infrastructure of all EU states
History is an illusion that can be overcome.
As for the fact I am American then I will say I have been to Europe on multiple occasions and if I was only interested in Supporting American interests then I would be against a united Europe for that would be a powerful economic bloc making the EU the largest economy in the world that can truly represent it's people when it came to free trade and many other issues. Complaining that people don't want it because they are too stubborn to move on is what the problem is

Any problems in Europe are vastly over stated. All governments in the EU work properly, the economy is growing slowly and steadily and any major problems are exaggerated to scare the populace to support bad ideas.
Let me be clear there are no Major problems in the EU except for some light racism on the refugees which can be solved by banning them or something else, none the less the EU is stable no matter what way you look at it.
This is obviously the best (and only) case scenario for European countries to go down as it will unify many countries in a global economy and end needless nationalism of minor countries (replaced by light hearted pride)
When will European leaders agree on this and who is holding them back. It makes no sense and no argument can be made against it.
