I suppose Trump doesn't have a solid and deliberated political position and grandstands.

Re: 'Well... Putin is one of Trump's biggest fanboys... And look where Russia is right now...'

Yeah, Trump isn't even POTUS and already he's made a great mistake with the big 'PPP', poker playin Putin. But really international relations isn't Trump's forte.

So for the Europeans who like him remember he is a 'provincial' American with all its concomitant baggage. He'll no doubt be making deals but please expect that what you see is what you get. You can't be surprised when at times in dialog with Europe he will say ' tell your story walkin'. Trump will be a different politician that what everybody over the pond is conditioned to see. Europe could get faked out.

Trump is Beppe Grillo, tons of politicians like him in the EEC that have arrived nowhere!!!
Sure, many people might like him as they loved Jerry Lewis.

I'm staggered there are 9 northern Europeans who support Trump. And I don't mean on CD. I mean in the entire population.

I'm curious. What are Trump's foreign policies that Europeans support or do they just feel that their countries will have some sort of edge if he is elected?

I voted that I would support Trump in this poll. To be honest, I don't know all of his policies, and I already know that I don't support all of those that I do know about (which is normal for any politician).

However, he really can't be worse than Merkel. And even worse, according to polls in Germany, she might get voted back in in March.

Personally, I see Merkel as a much bigger issue than Trump. So, on this basis, I'm sure Trump will be just fine.

He's perceived as a stand-up gaudy comic that utters 20 tasteless gags per minute, in the EEC there are hundreds of politicians that are more funny than him, more clever notwithstanding their message (if they have any). He reminds me of a bland Addy.

Tasteless politicians were in fashion years ago, no more. He's perceived as a clown, an American Charly Hebdo withh Bardot's fringe.

Re: 'perceived as a clown'

And with that one can weep or guffaw at that 'politician'. Wonder who will get the last laugh?
If I'm not mistaken some of the European far-right likes the guy. But I'd suggest Europe has enough problems without seeing where all that can go. I think the continent is asking for trouble if they want him to run the US. Yikes.

A poll on the most read French newspaper's website :

Would Trump be a good President of the US?

70% No
30% Yes

More than 24,000 voters, and it's a right-wing newspaper

Donald Trump ferait-il un bon président des États-Unis ?

People hate him here.
