I just said the word 'Trump' out loud, focusing on the sound rather than the meaning. You are totally right, it does sound funny.

It's also funny that several of the Northern European Trump supporters are American. I know that we are famed for our poor knowledge of geography, but I figured that all of us would at least know the continent our country is located on.

Trump now makes me imagine the sound an obese cartoon figure would make while walking.

Sure, many people might like him as they loved Jerry Lewis.
That's a good analogy (in terms of the kind of speech they use), although some of the ideas behind the Five Star Movement are completely opposed on the political spectrum and they have finally given in my opinion a resurgence to a couple ideas which were abandoned after the PD had shifted further to the center.

Grillo is also on the way out of politics luckily and has built solid enough foundations for the "movement" not to need him, since they got softer they actually gained further appeal.

Going further maybe elephants with jackboots...;-)...Arguably those far-right fellows look as if with enough traction they could veer into fascistic lanes... Just saying...

Do you there think it is a realistic chance Trump might win? I would love to see the faces of the leftists in Germany then

Maybe it's better for you to emigrate to Russia or the U.S. led by Trump? I am pretty sure that many leftists in Germany wouldn't be unhappy if Trump would become the next U.S. president. Obama isn't good for bogeyman. Most likely that after the three state elections in march, Merkels party will rule in two more states.
I am pretty sure that Trump don't have a chance to win. I don't think that Americans are that dumb.

If you would make a representative poll in Germany. Surely less than 10% would vote for Trump. Almost entirely from right-wing extremists like Pegida and AFD supporters.
