Oh good to know, I don't know much about German cities so I didn't know Why do you think that of Cologne and Frankfurt?
Frankfurt is known for it's (financial) service industry, Cologne is known for... well... TV stations and carnival? Don't get me wrong, I assume both are fine cities to live in, but I don't think they are very dynamic and interesting.
Frankfurt in particular seems to be a very static place. Lot's of white collar workers on the one side, lots of homeless people on the other side. Both places are architecturally bland and lack things to do.
Munich and Hamburg are pretty nice cities with nice job markets. A lot of students and young people keep the city interesting. Both cities just seem to be more innovative than Cologne and Hamburg, things change quite quickly.

I see, I understand What is interesting in Germany is that it doesn't have a huge capital concentrating most of political and economic power like Paris in France or London in the UK, it's more like the US. Pretty cool
Ryanair will start probably this year shuttle services to Helsinki. Norwegian and Air Baltic can have quite cheap flights too.
I'm sure I'll visit Stockholm at some point this year, I might find a way to Helsinki then. I thought about taking a ferry but ferries seem to be so ****ing expensive.

What? €50-60 is too much? It's cheaper than a hotel room for the night.
Take the crappiest boat, the crappiest cabin, not a cruise but a commuting fare and don't spend much money on the ship. Sometimes they can have campaigns with a fare like €30.
edit: and you get the genuine booze cruise experience, integral to Stockholm-Helsinki culture.
