This is the bike I will be riding this coming June 3 to 9th for the AIDS LifeCycle ride. It is my major workout routine now, beside running and walking. It is a Specialized Elite Cirrus road bike. I love it.
Three years ago I became serious about my need to lose weight. I stopped consuming soft drinks and switched to ice tea and adjusted my intake of calories. That helped me go from 275 to 260 over a year. Still at 260 and almost 50 years old, I started aerobics to music on my 50th birthday and stayed with it for a year and that took off another 20 and by 51 I was down to 240 and I was still significantly overweight. I bought a pair of running shoes and tuned up my bicycle and got on it, I actually started running a few months later on March 12th of last year. I have been running, bicycling and lifting weights now for over a year. I am down to 184# for the first time in 26 years.
Me in November 2008 and was at 275#. This was at a Prop 8 rally in Eureka Cal.
After having stopped softdrinks, I had lost 10# in just a few months, not much, but encouraging.
Same image as I posted earlier, just larger. Eating healthier and being physically active all the time is now a functional part of my life. I know if I change that, I will just put the weight right back on and I do not ever want to be that heavy again.

Wow that is a great story! Neat to see how all that hard work paid off!
