There must be more to the story than the article states. I like to keep my cell phone with me when I'm working out. When running I will slow down enough so I can carry on a conversation if I get a call. Some people need to conduct business regardless of the time or place. I'm betting this woman was constantly carrying on loud obnoxious conversations and people complained.

Sorry I am not buying it. My gym has cell phone rules as well and I appreciate it. We have a designated cell phone area so if you need to catch that all important call you can do it there. I cannot imagine that someone cannot put the cell phone down for 30 - 60 minutes.
A gym I used to be a member of had a circuit area with aerobic steps and weight machines. This area was clearly marked inside a corral, yet morons would come in and use the machines often obstructing your sequence.

That would be believible if people didn't screen calls.
I stopped our local gym a few years ago as they had air fresheners coming out the ceiling.. it was making me so ill..... surely all a gym needs is the windows to be open.. and people should also be asked not to wear perfumes as its offensive and harmful to others...

Sometimes I wonder if it was worth the $$$ to build my home gym. Then I come back to this thread and smile and say, "Yes, god yes."
I have to agree with the putting your crap away comment. I am not your plate beeyowtch, putting away the plates you stacked on and couldn't bother to put away. Oh, that really stuck in my craw.
We live in a pretty screwed up society. Now perfumes and colognes are offensive too. I think body odor and poor personal hygene are offensive but perfume and cologne are supposed to be for a pleasant smell. It seems like everything nowadays is offensive. I will take the smell of perfume and cologne over body odor and poor personal hygiene any day.
