No it isn't. You assume that it is nasty. But it's not actually nasty. No one who knows me has any idea until I tell them. Then they are shocked.
Yes. Once a week, I take a hot shower to rinse off. Then I soak in a hot tub and exfoliate getting off the dead skin cells. Then I take another shower to rinse off again.
Full disclosure, I will take 1 or 2 quick (like 30 seconds quick) showers during the week because I am active, go to the gym, run, do yoga, hike, ride my bicycle, etc. But I don't use soap or a washcloth. Just a quick rinse.
No soaps needed and my skin is cleaner and healthier than yours.
I'm at a loss to imagine how soap is gross and full of germs?
Having seen some folks that don't bother with wash cloths, and knowing where that bar of soap has traveled (as evidenced by the aforementioned stuck hairs), yeah, gross. I don't share wash cloths either.
I use both, not for any particular reason though. I just see it, want it, buy it, and use it.
Right now, I have a bottle of some Ulta brand bodywash, Burt's Bee's Gud bodywash, and a bar of goat's milk soap. I alternate between them.
Concerning bar soaps and washcloths, I am not concerned with germs. I am the only one who uses my soap and washcloth, and I only use my cloths once before I wash them again. You shouldn't be sharing bar soaps anyway....
I'm not a dirty person -- don't have a dirty, sweaty job. I shower daily, but I don't use soap...or body wash. I rinse off really well, sometimes I use a loofa or brush, and afterwards I scrub down with a wet washcloth soaked in grapeseed oil. Works for me.
On the very rare occasion that I use soap, I use castile liquid soap, almond-scented.
