And by that I mean, I really don't care what you get done if you so choose.
If people want to get their boobs done, then why not? Who am I (or anyone else) to judge. Let them do it. I don't think that it necessarily makes them "fake" or "phony", etc. etc.
Heck, I'm only 21, but I'll probably get some stuff done in the future. It's not because I feel insecure or depressed or anything of that nature, it's just because I want to. I'd be doing it for myself, and not for anyone else. I'm a male too btw, so take that for what you will.
I'm not here to pass judgment on anyone. Live and let live, that's my philosophy

I sit in amazement that women want to make their breasts larger. I would be happy to be as flat as a board.
I am proportionally very large on top (32 H) and I'd like to have mine reduced. I have grooves in my shoulders from my bra straps, constant head and neck pain, can't run or do any kind of activity where I have to bounce (sports bras just don't come in my size that work) and I can't wear the kind of clothes I'd like to wear because nothing fits right on top. I haven't worn a bathing suit in 15 years - nothing fits. They literally get in the way of my everyday life and if it wasn't that the surgery was so intense with serious complications and risks - I would go for it. At some point I feel as if I will have no choice. My husband is pushing me to have the surgery because he knows how happy it would make me and how it would improve the quality of my life - he wouldn't care if I didn't have any breasts at all.
Most women I know who had breast reduction loved the surgery. The surgery is very intense. I think if it were as easy as putting an implant more women would have breast reduction.
What are the reasons why some people hate breast implants so much? Is it because some go too large and it's not proportionate to their body. Do some get mad because they can't afford to get implants and are jealous of some women that do.
I think what you said is part of it. Other parts of it are discussed in this thread as well. Some people out there just don't know when to stop.
Personally, I don't have too much of a problem with them as long as they are proportional. Not like that one top-heavy looking lady from the show True Life. Ewww. I don't think it should be about the breasts. It's what's attached to them I'm interested in. My opinion anyway.
P.S. If they have a distracting face ie. beautiful dark eyes/radiant light hair and skin or what have you, I'm not going to be looking at the breasts as much.
As a woman, it has truly never even occurred to me to be jealous of a woman who has fake boobs. The emotions I've felt when I realized someone had them are curiosity (of the morbid type), and slight feelings of pity and revulsion.
I'd never even consider it for myself, but then I'm proportionate so I'm lucky.
That being said, at fifty one I can tell that one of these days I am going to HATE the skin under my neck and want to have something done about it. Now that's not nearly the invasive surgery that breast implants entail but it IS cosmetic surgery and I can assure you I'm going to get it done, probably for some of the same reasons that women opt to have breast implants - I want to be attractive, correct what I see as a negative regarding my looks, that sort of thing.
So I don't judge people, because I have no idea what they were dealing with beforehand. They may have had truly awful looking natural breastesses. Some people do, unfortunately. It's their money and their body.
I DO think it's really weird though (and indicative of some character and personality issues) when a woman has a boob job and then suddenly starts wearing tops that are very low cut and that emphasize her new boobies. I think that's just plain tacky.
I think THAT is a sad way to try to get attention. Really sad.
Don't worry about other people's opinions, if you arent' happy with your appearance, change it. If other folks interpret that as low self esteem, vanity, etc., it's their issue. We are free to do whatever we want with our bodies, don't let others bring you down. Personally I wish more people were more concerned with their appearance but hey, I suppose I'm shallow, lol. Whatever anyone decides to do with their body is their business, you can never please the masses so do please yourself.
I hate those things. I like women al naturale, flat or big chested never mind! and pleaase pleaase stop botox, excessive make-up, tattoing, "slave" rings in the lips (yes, "those" lips...) and LET YOUR BODY HAIR GROW FREELY! this generation of women is priceless for the cosmetics industry...
Did you get the boob job for health reasons, If not all that is left is doing it "for yourself"
I'll modify my stance, if to correct a defect or from injury or reconstruction after a mastectomy, sure.
It screams , hey, hey you, yea you, look at me.
Just like tats, purple hair, piercings etc etc...
You do it for yourself out of vanity, like any comedic surgery that is not performed because of defect or injury..
and your size or lack of is not a defect.

it's THE NEW PURITANISM : women have to "dress up" their skin and appearance making it totally plastic superficial. It's not "sexy"; it is just what today in 2013 is considered socially acceptable, not "erotic". Unfortunately a lot of men go for it (not all of them, we are a small minority who prefer women "unadulterated").
