I know the title was clumsily phrased, but it's similar to the one about pretty women.

I was thinking there are some men, especially really masculine looking men, who women seem to love but men can't understand the attraction. In the same way a woman can appreciate an attractive woman, a man, if he's being honest, can appreciate a good looking guy. Most of us can understand why Brad Pitt or George Clooney is loved by women, but what about someone like (I've got nothing against the guy and god rest his soul) Patrick Swayze? I wouldn't say he's butt ugly but he's kind of ugly, yet you have women swooning over him. There might be better examples, but I think you get what I'm getting at.

Are there any other men who your female friends/SO's think are gorgeous who you think are ugly or at best plain?

Maybe because Patrick Swayze wouldn't let anyone put Baby in the corner? I don't know. His body was hot and I loved his voice and he could dance. I guess he gave off a strong but sweet vibe- at least he did to me.

Yea, I think you might want to pick a better example. In Patrick's hayday, he was very good looking. He aged well but his illness ravaged him and made him puffy before he got even worse. Now, I get that he wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but when you watch Dirty Dancing (and I saw it first run in the theater), he was this sexy older guy that could move like no one else. He was a bit rebellious and extremely talented...a good combo in my opinion.

I think there are soooo many good looking men out there that most people, in general, might find plain. I won't say ugly because it truly is in the eye of the beholder. I think the main determining factor of finding a man good looking is truly his personality...oh, I know there are some classically good looking men, but when it comes down to being sexy? It's all personality...maybe he's funny, maybe he's talented, maybe he's quirky in some endearing way...what can I say? I'm weird.

Okay, grandmother Willow.

Patrick Swayze? Yea, I can see that, but no, I will never be able to appreciate/understand Channing Tatum's appeal. The kid is all lame.

And don't even get me started on his horrendous acting?

Lol. I only like him in the step up movies. I haven't seen many other movies with him. GI Joe and the stripper movie. He does dance well though.

Channing Tatum was in that Ron Howard movie, Dilemma...the movie was OK but it was Channing's role that I liked the best. He was very funny in it. He was also in this movie called (I think) The Eagle...that was decent. He's probably not a powerhouse actor but he doesn't have to be....I guess I still don't get the point of the thread.

The one that works in Philadelphia? Channel 6? I think he's adorable, but I've read in more than one source that he's gay (not that there's anything wrong with that).
