I remember when I was in middle school, those were the brands to wear. I'd see other teens who had begged their parents to shop there, searching through the stores while the parents sat in chairs sleeping. In hs I saw less people wearing those brands. By college, the only people I really see wearing them are foreigners.
Is it still popular for tweens/teens? Do you ever see adults wearing the brands now? It seems like another one of those brands that are fading away...
Well, if no one wore those clothes, the stores would cease to exist.

Yeah but who? Everyone I knew in school that wore them would not wear them today. It seems like a different demographic does, but I still barely see anyone wearing them. I wonder if they are still popular for tweens/young teens.
My daughter liked AE when she was 10. Now that she has hips, she says their jeans fit oddly. If I gave her unlimited money and took her shopping, she would go to Loft, White House Black Market, Bebe and Victoria's Secret. If she had anything left after that, she'd go to Lululemon. She doesn't go to school with other kids though, so I have no idea how her tastes would change if she were influenced by a group of her peers.
My 9 year old wants all her clothes to be from Justice.

That's interesting. I remember when I was 9/10, I had no idea what A&F/Hollister/AE was lol. Bebe and VS were popular, too, as well as A&F/AE when I was tween/young teen. I remember F21 not being as popular, but now it seems like that and H&M/Zara are the big stores.
I just read that A&F is struggling nowadays. It used to be ideal to get a shirt with the logo or name on it, now I've read that they've done away with logos to increase their sales.

I remember when I was in middle school and every other time of year all of the people I knew could care less about wearing a designer label. We never felt the need to try and impress anyone of follow a fad.

That's fantastic, but ok? Fads still happen and it's okay to note on them.

Those stores aren't particularly marketing to adults.
A&F seems to market to more of a young adult crowd. The other two were more for young teens.
