Running pretty much requires s bra...unless you are flat chested. LOL. And I bike too, so I go through about 7-8 sports bras a week. My laundry load is mostly gym stuff, a lot of times.
Oh I know, if I ran I'd have to wear a bra too, and would probably go through that many a week too. But I have one of those combination elliptical/recumbant bike thingies, so don't have the "girls" flapping up and down so much as I exercise.I do sweat, for sure, but no doubt much less than you do as I have to fight atrial fibrillation ( not constant, thank goodness) so have to pace the exercise.
I am not sure whether to laugh or cry that many of you equate bras with underpants.
If your breasts are getting so dirty/sweaty during the course of a normal day (unless you live in the tropics and/or do manual labor for 10 hours) that your bras are filthy and smelly after one wear, you should definitely see a doctor.
I wear my bras more than once and I assure you I do not smell bad (I have plenty of friends and family who would let me know). Likewise, I have never been near a woman who had smelled bad from her bra being worn a second day.
This is such an American thing--most of the world does not wash everything after one wear, except for underpants.
I find it amusing that some of the posters who are responding defensively must have missed the part in my original post when I said, "I might wear a bra two days in a row if I didn't get sweaty..." I never said that I think bras have to be washed every single day. I just said that I won't go more than two days.
I was thinking the same thing, Macie's Mom. I have never heard anyone discuss this subject and I certainly wouldn't initiate a conversation about it. Very strange ... imo.

It was even stranger when a man brought up this very same topic not all that long ago. A little too obsessed with the fact that the bras didn't go into the wash on the same schedule as other things. I don't even know why anyone would notice this about another person if they didn't have terrible body odor.
I've never gotten a rash or fungus from not washing my bra after every use. That doesn't include sports bras, which most people seem to agree that they get washed after every use. I don't think breasts are the same breeding ground like a crotch either (wish there was a better word for that!).
Anyhow, I've also never known a woman to get anything like jock itch anywhere on her body. I'm sure some do as anything is possible, but I've never come across that with any friends.
I would really like to see some verifiable stats on people developing fungal infections from not laundering bras after a single wearing.
Well, I hand washed my bras last night. You can definitely wear a bra for several days without washing and still be clean. I personally do not sweat much unless it is very hot. I wear my jeans and work clothes multiple times too. They look good and last a heck of a lot longer too. And one does not need to bathe everyday especially in winter. Obsession with cleanliness is a waste of time and energy.
I don't go so close that it would bother me if they do or not..
