No, no one has ever thought I'm male.

Never visually, but over the phone quite a few times being that my voice can drop quite low at times. Not a bad off putting low, more like a Kathleen Turner, Scarlette Johannson, Kirstie Alley, kind of low I guess sense I've garnered quite a bit of positive feedback from people I've spoken with over the phone more often than not. But if we're talking in appearance not even once. But I do give that I and many of us have both male female facial qualities, I know I do to some degree just a normal thing for many people.

Santa Claus at my local mall called me a girl when I was like 7. I had curly and somewhat long hair and apparently looked a bit like a girl.

I don't think my voice is all that low, but am mistaken for my husband on the phone a lot. But that might be because the caller is expecting him, so assume anyone who picks up must be him.

I have been called sir once or twice in person, even when wearing feminine clothes. The person clearly was responding only to my height (5'10), not really looking at me.

In my volunteer work I've spoken with several people I didn't know for sure whether they were transgender male or female or just feminine males or masculine females. I usually respectfully address people in my volunteer job as Mr. So and So or Ms. So and So. People with nebulous gender I address as You so I don't offend them by making a wrong guess. Many names don't provide clues to people's gender, either. Remember Pat on SNL, anyone?

There was a site you could upload a picture of you and they'd tell you which actor you resemble. I was probably mid-40s (female, no make up) and it came back with a picture of Kirk Douglas...as an old man! :O We're both ScotIrish so.... I was a bit bummed.

Kirk Douglas's real name is Issur Danielovitch, he is the son of Russian/Belarussian immigrants.

Yes, I was mistaken for a woman a few times back in the late 60s when I had long hair halfway down my back. I got whistled and honked at as I walked down the street until they passed me and saw I wasn't a 6'3" girl. Never got hit with beer bottles. I think they were too surprised to try to take their mistake out on me.

Yes, once when I was 17. My long hair was cut ridiculously short by a bad haircut, and I hated it. My friend later told me her boyfriend gave her a hard time because of the "guy" in her car. It was me. I have never had a short haircut since.
