Not something I care about much (or at all), but boat shoes anywhere near the coast or a large lake are rather expected.
Although, I suspect that people who really actually own boats do not wear their boat shoes around town. Or else they have a separate and clean pair to use on the boat.
A big Youtuber named "Alpha M" made several videos about how much he hates boat shoes and how supposedly women hate it so much.
I disagree with his viewpoint.
At the end of the day, women tend to be most attracted to confidence. Men can wear whatever we want as long as we wear it CONFIDENTLY and give masculine energy. I actually think that "Alpha M" is pretty feminine for being so caught-up in things like fashion; which is deemed as "girly" by most of society.
I'm a dude and I tend to dress "preppy" a lot (boat shoes, pastel shorts/polo's, vineyard vines, etc) and I do just fine with the ladies..

My husband is as far away from being preppy as you can get and he's worn them for over thirty years because they're comfortable and he can wear them without socks.
Ditto for my husband. He wears socks though. He only wears 2 types of shoes: work boots for work and yard work, boat shoes for every day. Dress shoes with suits(rarely worn). I did buy him some black sneakers which he might wear when we take walks.
Yes, absolutely! I think they look great on guys. NO flip-flops please.
