In my opinion, this change in grooming habits in the US is more about the mainstreaming and legitimization or porn and about the sexualization of girls at a younger age. Previously, only porn stars and hookers went bare down there. Now, we've pushed this concept out so that every 13 year old girl thinks that's what guys want. And goodness knows, we're all about teaching them to do what guys want.
You said a mouthful. Shave it all off and inflate your boobs with implants so boys like you. That is what girls are hearing. I have no problem with the way anyone grooms themself but to pretend the issue hasn't been sexualized and promoted is ignorant.
So which is it? Do you shave because your husband sees them, or do you shave because it feels better?

I shave for me because it feels better. I hate the feeling of going to bed and the sheets hitting non shaved legs. Ick. My husband travels 6 mo out of the year so yes it is for me. I shaved everyday he was in iraq last year too and he didn't see that. I shaved my crotch then too I'll have you know so obviously if I did it for him I wouldn't have continued to shave during the time he is away.
That said...my point is and was that I like to look good for my myself AND my husband. I shave, I groom, I get my hair dyed and styled, I workout and run daily. Do I do it ONLY for him, no way! But, I don't like how alot of moms 'let themselves go' just because they see their husband daily. Lame excuse.
The whole shaving thing for me is simple grooming but yes my husband prefers my legs shaved. I don't know many men who don't.
Why is it so terrible that people like to look good and take a interest in keeping up their appearances for themselves and for their mate? I really look at the whole body hair/facial hair thing as a simple grooming preference and that is all. I certainly look like a woman whether I have hair on my crotch or not. Suggesting all of women's grooming habits are due to men and the porn industry is ridiculous . If you feel so strongly I suggest you stop shaving your pits, legs altogether too... I doubt you do. There is absolutely no reason for us ladies to be shaving our legs at all. why do we do it? This is just a matter of personal preference and that is all. My few european friends think Im nuts to shave daily. They let their hair on their legs grow long and wax it off for a nice event. I'm not going to rip on them for letting it grow. To each their own.
How does your period magically miss your pubes? I want to know.
I use tampons, not pads, so no blood clots ever get stuck in my pubes. And I shower every day, so no odor problems.
Anyway, I'm 51 and I've never shaved down there, and I never will. Too itchy and I refuse to spend hours grooming my privates for no good purpose. Also, Chinese hair is thicker than Caucasian hair, which makes for extra stubble annoyance. The hair on my legs is close to non existent, so I don't bother shaving them. All I shave is under my arms. I guess that I am very lucky that my 28 year old boyfriend prefers me being natural.
Why is it terrible? Because people would rather call it terrible than just say "im lazy" or "I dont feel like doing that". Any s.o. I had could of cared less what the hair styling status is/was. On my skull and my crotch. I generally try to pick guys that don't just like me for what I look like alone or ones that are anal retentive with pedo-complexes (talk about snakes in the head people, you call someone who shaves crazy?). Thats just my preference as well.
I always use a new blade every time on that area. The razor should glide over the skin. You cut yourself when you put pressure down. You are suppose to let the weight of the razor do the work. Its why I love Mach3's and old school double blade pop ins. Great weight to the handle.
FYI - I am anti porn. Hair removal does not make it legit for me. I shave for me really. If he likes it thats good because I'm not going to change that.
Removal of choice - Lack of freedom - female oppression - living your life down to the smallest stupid detail on someone else's values.

I had an allergic reaction to one that was not even scented as already noted in an earlier post. One thing I forgot by switching back to pads is that your period gets over faster. Love that, bloody mess and all. LOL
You should not stink down there from your period. If you do its time to go to the doc. I just always hated the plain old mess. They also can dry out your vaginal walls and make you prone to infections due to that. That kinda freaked me out about tampons too. I had the inside of my nose crack once from winter air...I don't know what that would feel like going on up the yuwyuw.
Again, the people were asked their opinion. If they feel that is is pedophilic, it is their opinion. There was no need for you to get hissy about it.

It is just as silly for people to equate shaving with pedophilia as it would be if I called all those who don't trim or shave uptight, repressed, asexual drones bound to become serial killers. See, that is stereotyping a bunch of people I don't even know based on their private grooming habits, and as if that wasn't enough - projecting criminal behavior onto them. Although it may be true of some people who don't shave, it is likely that most of them don't shave for their own personal reasons and this sort of generalization is completely unreasonable, just as the ones I protest are.
On "The Doctors" tv show the female Dr./gynecology specialist stated: It is CLEANER and SAFER for the woman to be shaved down there.
65 years old here: shaved and loving it. Wish women had started doing this years ago. Been doing it since it came into vogue what? 10 years ago or so?

When I see other women at the pool where I'm at in the Midwest now--and have these gigantic bushes--it looks nasty and dirty to me. Unclean looking, and I'm glad I'm not a man..ha!

Well not dull, but if it's fresh out of the package I wouldn't go straight for The Good Girl (don't ask me where I got that name, it's a long story ) since I always nick myself w/ brand new blade!
Never shave the noonani with a fresh razor, you are begging for razor burn and nicks that way.
Slightly dull is best, and shave after exfoliating.
I NAIR OR VEET mines off. Stuff it with toilet paper, slap it on, wait 10 minutes and VIOLA...smoother than a baby's bottom!
I think its a trend. We didn't worry about this stuff back in the 80's..and most men my age, don't like it bald. They like it hairy. When I go out on the cougar prowl, its usually the younger men, who prefer it bald.

No, it is wrong for you to bash others for stating their opinion. Also, they comparing it to pedophilia is actually the posters misconstruing studies. Studies have shown that women with younger looks are more attractive, so they were deducing that shaving makes them look younger because young girls don't have hair. This is what cause the pedophilia connection. This is going nowhere, and I have to log off in a few to study for finals. Let's just agree to disagree.

I believe Dr. Masterson said trimmed. (I saw the ep too, but my memory may be faulty at the ripe old age of 20 ) But, oh well. Lol! I agree, too much is enough. I can't stand those bushes either.
