We have been splitting time between a midwest climate similar to NY's, and the greater Tampa Bay area. When we are in Florida, we never spend a day wishing we were back north; when we are north, there are times we wish were in Florida. If/when we ever have to choose one or the other to live year-round, we'll choose Florida. And yes, we spend parts of every season both places--so it is an informed decision.

Ny winters r mild for the most part IMO . So I'd prefer those l
Fl summers r twice as long and twice as brutal . Infect this year I think we're setting to go straight fromma hot winter to a hot summer with not much break at all. It was 84 on Christmas here which means a/c has been on for 12 months straight=high electric bill all year

My AC has been off for the last 3 months. Unfortunately it only got up to 80 for about 2 hours here yesterday, it was mid to low 70's for the rest of the day.

If you don't like hot weather, virtually year round, Florida is not the place for you.

Look at the two previous posts and you can see what a difference there is temps in Florida; mid 70s to mid 80s.

I never liked NY SUMMERS so guess how I feel about all year in Florida. Year round SUMMER! Ugh!

That just depends what your definition of "cold" is. I have been back on LI for the past past month. Most of the time in the days it's been hovering around 50 degrees. It's 47 right now. That isn't cold at all. I haven't even been able to wear my down coat much. Booo. No snow, of course with temps that high.

Yes, the weather people are calling this weather mild. I suppose if you want Summer weather all year, then anything under 80 degrees will be "freezing" to you.

Personally, I would rather have a New York Winter than even a Florida WINTER, since I am the opposite. I hate weather over 70 degrees.
