If you don't want to add citrus to avocado to keep it from oxidizing, try crushing a 500mg vitamin C tablet and mixing the powder in with the pulp of two avocados. It's an anti-oxidant. I like doing this because sometimes lemon changes the flavor too much, adds a sharpness where I want only creaminess.

I once asked a guy why he had a picture of an avocado half tattooed on his neck. His reply:

"Avocados are phat".

I love the avocado spring rolls they have at the Cheesecake Factory.

I love lemon and lime so it doesn't bother me having it on avocados. But, I can see in affecting taste to some or for some uses. Just had a half, on the side, with a Sausage and egg taco. I love avocados when they're rich and creamy. But a spoiled one can ruin your day!

Nah. Same diff. And I have nothing against citrus, but I don't like it adulterating my avocado. They grow well together, though, so they're a good flavor match. I have orange, lemon, lime, and kalamansi trees; but oddly the avocado tree just isn't taking, and it's in the same soil. It's been years. So disappointing.

My niece had an apartment with a huge Haas tree, 30' or more. From her balcony she could just pluck them in season. But I guess a neighbor decided to do some digging and it damaged the root system. The tree died.

When I was in SF I looked at an upstairs apartment too late, because I'd already signed a lease a couple of blocks away. But the place, though small, had a shared deck built around another huge, abundantly fruiting tree. You just had to walk out and pick a dozen. If I could have broken the lease I would have. Thinking about it now, that alone would have been worth it. Avocado baths every night!

I've grown several avocados from seed. They'll get about 2' tall and that's about it. I do have 4 (had 5) lemon trees and 2 key limes. Freezes last couple winters almost killed them all.

I love Avocados especially for dessert. Scoop the Avocado spoon size chunks into a glass filled with Milk and add sugar to taste. Love it!! I also love the Avocado egg rolls at Cheescake Factory.

I've heard of avocado ice-cream.

I like to mash up an avocado and spread on crackers with a little salt on it.
