Burgers on the grill, spicy sweet potato fries with an orange-honey dipping sauce, cucumber salad, sliced tomatoes, and cornbread. Sweet iced tea to drink. Hot fudge sundaes for dessert.
We had roasted stuffed chicken, with gravy, gingered carrots, and cranberry sauce. Not much of a hot weather meal, but super good anyway. Now we'll have enough left over for a nice chicken salad.
Found some lovely fresh caught Georgia shrimp today, so having an appetizer of roasted shrimp salad with toasted crostini brushed with a garlic clove and my best olive oil. Making Rhino balls (grilled jalpeno stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon) and caramelized onion dip to take over to the neighbors for a party.
Pulled out the stops. I bought 6 rotisserie chickens, 3 large tubs of potato salad, 2 of baked beans, made a nice big pot of okra salad, a guest brought apple strudel, and that's all I remember. SIL brought the chocolate Gnash cake. My mom's 92 birthday cake.
