No need to rant; its was your choice to buy. Some like them other don't. At least you have natural gas service if not propane and that n maybe a huge heating advantage in future cost.I was shocked when I look and found many sub divisions with no gas service and one nearby with gas service.I'd never buy a home not in remote area without gas service. Altho I prefer electric ranges for modern ones that allow much higher heat in home ranges without the extinguisher requirements of commercial types in most areas now.The commercial look alikes are not the same.

See my post. Gas absolutely sucks for cooking. If you don't know how to cook on electric you're just a noob.

That's just your opinion! You're obviously an electric fanboy/girl that fears gas. Misinformative posts won't change that. The majority in every poll I've seen prefer gas to electric period. I prefer gas any day of the week. I know a lot about gas and electric and their dangers.

I don't fear it. It just sucks. You didn't read my post. It can't simmer, it burns things to the sides of the pot, etc. People who prefer gas don't know how to keep up with their food as it cooks, they're always reacting to it, not being proactive. aka they're noobs.

I'd never get a gas stove for the simple fact I hate the heat going around the pot.

I read your dozen + paragraph of misinformation. If you think you can't simmer with gas or not burn the sides of pans you're the "noob". Your last sentence is total hogwash. If your cooking skills were lacking and you couldn't handle gas that's your problem.

There is a very simple solution to "the heat going around the pot." Turn. Down. The. Flame.

Look, who cares anyway. Some of us hate gas and love electric. Like me for instance. And I have it so I don't care what anyone else prefers. One is not better than another, only what one prefers. If you prefer gas, then good for you. I have cooked on both, and prefer electric, HANDS DOWN.
