I am taking a steak out of the freezer and will enjoy it tonight, after 2 plus days with no food: I don't count crap like beef broth food. We will have a potato casserole and veggies. If we stop for lunch on the way home, I might end up just having left over Mexican food for dinner. If so I will add a taco or two using the steak.
Yesterday was chicken breast sautéed in white wine with mushrooms and a dollop of cream to finish the sauce, home made rice a roni (SO loves it so I live with it), lots of green salad. Tomatoes for me. It is not very often that I get double compliments - little or no talk, clean plate and "that was really good can we do it again".
Thunder storms last night!!! And we got rain!!! Break out the polar fleece as we had only 22C at 5:00 am today.
I took out the last pre-fab meal. Beef goulash. Spaetzle or curly pasta, green salad.
It's going to be another warm day in Southern MN though not quite so humid. And the harmonic convergence I have been waiting for has finally happened. I now have all the fresh ingredients to made panzanella, Italian bread salad. I'm thinking that will be the perfect meal for a warm evening.
My basil is in fully glory, the tomatoes are ripe, a friend gave me a couple of English cucumbers from his garden and in honor of Marciamarshamarcia I picked up a Wallawalla onion.
There's just enough honey balsamic in the bottle and still enough EVOO. Two days ago I baked a loaf of French bread and cubed it in anticipation of the event.
decided against the steak afterall, did have a great Mexican lunch and am cooking thin loin pork chops for dinner with spiral potatoes and onions, fruit salad and broccoli. A girl can change her mind whenever she wants.
